Our Story: A Locally Owned St. Louis Hardwood Supplier

The story behind how St. Charles Hardwoods came to be the leading hardwood supplier that it is today is truly an American success story. This local St. Louis company was founded by Eddie and Jayne Wilson in 1988 when the couple decided to enter the wood business by buying a small supply of lumber and a truck using their own savings. Eddie then went to work driving the truck and delivering lumber himself while Jayne worked in the office handling sales and accounting. Before long, they were serving the entire St. Louis metropolitan area as a reliable hardwood plywood and hardwood supplier with Eddie and Jayne working together to answer phones and to fill and deliver orders.

As the company saw continued growth, Eddie and Jayne soon found themselves staffing the company with other quality people in order to meet the growing business’ needs. They focused on bringing in outstanding and knowledgeable employees who helped further the growth of the company.

Today, St. Charles Hardwoods is a leading lumber and hardwood supplier serving all of the St. Louis area. We are located in the St. Louis area, specifically in St. Peters, Missouri. In 1996, we purchased a mill in Bowling Green, Missouri at which we mill over 200 stock profiles and unlimited custom profiles of architectural moldings in nearly any species of wood.
